BREAKING NEWS--Oct. 16, 2007--SCPIE Holdings Inc., a major provider of healthcare liability insurance, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by The Doctors Company, a leading physician-owned medical malpractice carrier, for $28.00 per share in cash, or an aggregate purchase price of approximately $281 million.
