Find out how to present workplace rules, requirements and rights at the Aug. 6 Employee Handbook Workshop presented by the California Employers Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association and Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Every employer should have a handbook available in an organized, legal format. It protects you and it serves as a useful reference tool for employees.

The workshop runs from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, 15107 Vanowen St., Van Nuys 91405. It will cover such topics as: how to create a handbook; handbook benefits and risks; the key differences between handbooks and policy manuals; the ins and outs of personnel records and policies; retention of records; and much more.
Registration costs $50; non-members of LACMA can apply that registration fee toward the cost of joining the association. The fee also covers dinner, parking and resource materials. Direct your questions about the event to Socorro Perrins at 213/226-0338.

Register by sending a fax to LACMA at 213/226-0350 or register by phone at 213/226-0308. But make sure you do it by the Aug. 1 deadline!
