the Aug. 6 Employee Handbook Workshop presented by the California
Employers Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association and
Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Every employer should have a handbook
available in an organized, legal format. It protects you and it serves
as a useful reference tool for employees.
The workshop runs from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Valley Presbyterian
Hospital, 15107 Vanowen St., Van Nuys 91405. It will cover such topics
as: how to create a handbook; handbook benefits and risks; the key
differences between handbooks and policy manuals; the ins and outs of
personnel records and policies; retention of records; and much more.
Registration
costs $50; non-members of LACMA can apply that registration fee toward
the cost of joining the association. The fee also covers dinner,
