SBCMS Leaders Respong to Governor's Budget Cuts

San Bernardino County Medical Society leaders joined Democratic state legislators, nurses and paramedics at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center on May 16 to discuss the impact of Governor Schwarzenegger's proposed budget cuts. The governor's revised spending plan, which his office proposed on May 14, would reduce hospital funding and make deep cuts to a wide variety of healthcare programs that affect the availability and quality of emergency medical care.

Among the speakers were: ARMC Medical Director and Department of Surgery Chief Dev GnanaDev, MD; ARMC Emergency Department_Chair Rodney Borger, MD; Sen. Gloria Negrete McLeod (D-Chino); Assembly member Wilmer Amina Carter (D-Rialto); and Trauma Services Coordinator Jan Serrano, RN.
