Project K.I.N.D. will be able to see more children because of the $10,000 grant.
In November, Project K.I.N.D. received a $10,000 grant from the Bank of America Foundation. The funds provide ongoing support for children who come from families that do not qualify for state or federally funded healthcare, but cannot afford private insurance. Because of the Bank of America funds, Project K.I.N.D. will be able to see more children.
Many times these children do not receive much-needed healthcare. According to the 2001 California Health Interview Survey, 52 percent of Riverside County respondents stated that they were delayed or unable to get medical care for their children ages 5-17 because they couldn't afford it or had no insurance.
Project K.I.N.D. gives these children access to quality healthcare. Through a simple process, the children are able to get treatment often the same day at no cost. All the volunteer providers thank the Bank of America Foundation for its continued support.
