Election Process Begins for 2006-07

The Nominating Committee will meet Jan. 9, 2006, to consider all nominations.

The San Bernardino County Medical Society's Nominating Committee will meet on Jan. 9, 2006, at 6:30 p.m. to nominate one or more candidates for the SBCMS Board of Directors, and for California Medical Association delegates and alternate delegates to serve during the 2006-07 fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2006.

SBCMS members are invited to submit names to the Nominating Committee. All nominations should be presented in writing, and either mailed or faxed by Dec. 30, 2005. Mail to Edward Hess, MD, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, c/o San Bernardino County Medical Society, P.O. Box 11029, San Bernardino, CA 92423-1029. Fax to 951/787-8795.

*SBCMS members may petition for any open seat by submitting a petition signed by 20 active members (or 20 active members of the district, if the nomination is for a district office). Call the SBCMS office at 909/825-6526 or 951/787-7700 for blank petition forms. The petition must be presented to the secretary by March 30 and must be accompanied by the candidate's written consent to serve, if elected.

If no petitions for additional nominations are received by the March 30 deadline, the following will apply: Candidates unopposed because of no further nominations for their office will be considered elected.

If petitions for additional nominations are received by the March 30 deadline, the final slate will include the nominees approved by the SBCMS Board at its meeting on Jan. 30, as well as names submitted through the petition process. Ballots will be mailed to active members no later than May 1. Polls close on May 15.
