SBCMS discussed the financial report, the 2006-07 budget and new board members.
San Bernardino County Medical Society Treasurer Rodney Borger, MD, presented the 10-month financial report for the period July 1, 2005, through April 30, 2006. Total revenue is $508,277. Total expenses are $377,786. Excess revenue over expenses is $130,491 after depreciation. The board approved the 10-month financial report as submitted.
President Dennis Flynn, MD, presented and the board approved the society's 2006-07 budget. Revenue is $520,368 and expenses are $514,170. President-Elect Manmohan Nayyar, MD, requested and received board approval for the appointment of more than 200 physicians to SBCMS's 2006-07 committees. The board also approved the 2005-06 annual reports submitted by the chairs of all SBCMS committees. They also accepted the annual reports from Inland Wellness Information Network and the Physicians Memorial, Gift and Benevolence Fund.
The board agreed to move District 1 CMA Alternate Delegate Mohan Mallam, MD, to the District 1 CMA Delegate seat formerly held by Gebre C. Gobezie, MD. They appointed Mohinder Ahluwalia, MD, to fill the District 1 CMA Alternate Delegate seat vacated by Dr. Mallam. Dr. Flynn requested a moment of silence in memory of Dr. Gobezie. Board members approved a Memorial Resolution for Dr. Gobezie that will be presented at the October 2006 California Medical Association House of Delegates.
